Phantogram

Phantogram will play at the Luxor in Cologne on June 4, 2026. The duo from Greenwich, New York, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter, bring their blend of electronic pop, indie rock and trip-hop touches to the stage. A defining feature is the interplay between Barthel’s vocals and Carter’s guitars, beats and samples: dense synth beds, rhythmic patterns with a hip‑hop edge, and melodic lines with an edge. Since their early days as Charlie Everywhere the band has gradually sharpened its sound: Eyelid Movies (2010) laid the foundation, Voices (2014) opened the door to more pop‑oriented forms, Three (2016) darkened the spectrum; the side project Big Grams with Big Boi (2015) strengthened the rap connection. Ceremony (2020) concentrated these tensions between melody and roughness. Live, Phantogram layer these elements into driving, bass‑forward arrangements, leave room for floating passages and then shift back into direct, beat‑driven energy — a set that brings early tracks and later material together.
