Info
On 8 May 2026, Glen Hansard will take the stage at the Columbiahalle in Berlin. The Dublin-born songwriter founded The Frames in 1990 and, with the band, shaped a blend of rock and folk. He gained international recognition through the independent film Once, whose song “Falling Slowly” won the Oscar in 2008. Parallel to his years with the band, Hansard developed his solo career further: since Rhythm and Repose (2012) he has released several albums, including Didn’t He Ramble and This Wild Willing, and has collaborated with artists such as Eddie Vedder and Robbie Robertson.
In concert, Hansard emphasizes narrative songwriting, acoustic subtleties and powerful arrangements. In Berlin he will span the range from early material from the Frames era through songs from Once to more recent tracks from his solo work. The setlist leaves room for spontaneous transitions, brief stories between songs and occasional covers, without losing focus on his own repertoire. It promises an evening that brings together his various creative phases and demonstrates how organically his material moves between folk, rock and quiet ballads.
