Jesse Cook

Jesse Cook will be stopping at the Théâtre du Casino de Gatineau on October 3, 2026. Born in Paris and raised in Toronto, he has over three decades established himself as a solid craftsman of flamenco fusion. His nylon‑string guitar, rooted in the Spanish tradition, opens onto rumba, jazz, pop and Latin music, with arrangements that let rhythm and melody breathe without excess.

On stage, Cook performs with a band and makes room for dialogue: duo passages with the percussion, call‑and‑response between the strings, finely wrought solos and collective climbs. He occasionally invites guest performers onstage, reinforcing the ensemble feel of the set. His playing—precise, percussive and lyrical—remains centered on melody, accessible both to the curious listener and to guitar aficionados.

This concert will showcase his signature compositions as well as more recent pieces, ranging from bursts of rumba to more contemplative passages and grooves nourished by his travels.
