Basement and Fiddlehead share the bill at Mia Mao in Paris’s 19th arrondissement on June 26, 2026. Two outfits that intersect emo, grunge and post-hardcore, with a feel for taut riffs and melodies that land without detour.
Basement, formed in England in the late 2000s, move between thick guitars, contrasting dynamics and assertive, front-facing vocals. From their early steps with Songs About the Weather and I Wish I Could Stay Here to Colourmeinkindness, the band honed a songwriting approach where emotion collides with urgency. Returning after a hiatus, Further Sky followed by Promise Everything and Beside Myself opened the door to a broader alternative rock without abandoning the tempo shifts and live energy that drive their shows.
Born in the heart of Boston’s hardcore scene around Patrick Flynn and Shawn Costa, Fiddlehead brings together members who played in Have Heart and Basement. Their sound blends post-hardcore, melodic punk and emo, with taut guitars, direct tempos and a vocal delivery that alternates abrasion and clarity. From the EP Out of the Bloom to Springtime and Blind, then Between the Richness and Death Is Nothing to Us, the band explores intimate themes — grief, family, memory — and projects them onstage in a compact, no-frills set.
