Info

Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist Courtney Barnett brings her conversational vocals and melodic, slightly fuzzy guitars to Toronto. Raised in Sydney and based in Melbourne, she co-founded the indie label Milk! Records and made her name with the early EPs later collected as The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas. Her 2015 debut Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit honed her taste for vivid everyday scenes; she later teamed with Kurt Vile on Lotta Sea Lice, leaned into a denser rock sound on Tell Me How You Really Feel, then pared things back on Things Take Time, Take Time. On stage, Barnett plays with a compact electric band that shifts from garage bite to stripped folk figures, keeping the focus on detail-rich songwriting and an unvarnished delivery.

Courtney Barnett plays at History, 1663 Queen Street East, Toronto, on May 22, 2026. In partnership with PLUS1, $1 from each ticket supports organizations working for equity, access and dignity.
