Seedhe Maut

Seedhe Maut bring New Delhi’s independent rap to Vancouver on June 12, 2026 at Hollywood Theatre. The duo — MCs Encore ABJ (Abhijay Negi) and Calm (Siddhant Sharma) — write and perform in Hindi and Urdu, blending tight storytelling with quick, clipped flows. Their tracks draw on everyday urban life, mixing social observations and portraits of Indian youth, and they move between introspective pieces, straight performance cuts and more melodic moments.

Formed in the mid-2010s around open mics and independent stages, Seedhe Maut have built their path through regular releases and collaborations with producers from India’s new rap wave. The album Bayaan (2018) set an early marker; Nayaab (2022) pushed further into the tension between ambition, social pressure and economic reality. On stage, their back-and-forth keeps the writing front and center and the tempo agile, playing on contrast and complementarity rather than solo showboating. At Hollywood Theatre, they bring a set that tracks their journey so far while opening up new corners of their sound.
