Info

Napalm Death return to Toronto with four decades of extreme music behind them. Formed in Birmingham in 1981, the band helped define grindcore with ultrafast bursts, abrupt shifts and a rough blend of punk, death metal and noise. Scum (1987) set the tone with You Suffer, a 1.3-second track listed by Guinness as the shortest ever, followed by From Enslavement to Obliteration and Harmony Corruption. Led by vocalist Barney Greenway since 1989, they carry political and social themes into tight, abrasive songs built for the stage.

Primitive Man bring the slow, heavy end of the spectrum: down-tuned doom, dragging tempos and layers of noise that turn each piece into a dense wall. Their set leans on long forms, feedback and low-end pressure, a stark contrast that pairs well with grind’s speed.

Napalm Death and Primitive Man play Lee’s Palace, 529 Bloor Street West, Toronto, on June 2, 2026.
