Jessy Matador

Jessy Matador, born in Kinshasa and based in France, first made his mark as a dancer before moving to the microphone. On Parisian stages since the mid-2000s, he blends coupé-décalé, kuduro, ndombolo, dancehall, zouk and electronic pop, with a strong choreographic emphasis. From the albums Afrikan New Style and Elektro Soukouss to Authentik, and including his Eurovision entry Allez Ola Olé, he has developed a repertoire designed for live performance and interaction with the audience.

With Afro-Genesis, he refocuses on heritage and transmission: choruses in French or Lingala, chanted backing vocals, percussion that summons dancing, and that way of building the energy in the room step by step. A living, shared culture where the stage becomes a collective playground. Jessy Matador will be at La Cigale in Paris on 19 April 2026. It’s an opportunity to revisit his signature tracks, discover new productions, and let the music guide the bodies, between club vibes and Afro-diasporic influences.
