Info

Julianna Barwick brings a vocal ambient approach shaped by years of choral singing. Louisiana-born and long based in Brooklyn, she builds pieces from almost wordless vocal loops, stacking harmonies that bloom in reverb, somewhere between ambient, slow dream pop and a neoclassical tint. After Sanguine and Florine, The Magic Place placed her within New York’s experimental scene, followed by Nepenthe recorded in Reykjavík with Alex Somers, then Will and Healing Is a Miracle. On stage she performs solo with live looping, letting the room’s acoustics guide the contours of each set.

Mary Lattimore, American harpist trained at Eastman, explores the amplified harp at the crossroads of ambient, experimental music and a subtle folk heritage. From Philadelphia to Los Angeles, she has collaborated with Kurt Vile, Thurston Moore and Sharon Van Etten, while shaping a solo path with The Withdrawing Room, At the Dam, Hundreds of Days, Silver Ladders and Goodbye, Hotel Arkada, alongside the Collected Pieces series. Duos with Jeff Zeigler and Meg Baird run in parallel. Her concerts weave loops, repeating motifs and improvisation close to drone, film music and melodic minimalism.

Julianna Barwick and Mary Lattimore share the bill on March 17, 2026 at The Great Hall, 1087 Queen Street West, Toronto.
