Info
Great Lake Swimmers return to Toronto on April 10, 2026, for a date at The Great Hall. Led by songwriter Tony Dekker, the Canadian project revolves around a flexible lineup of Toronto-based musicians, with multi-instrumentalist Erik Arnesen as a long-standing presence. Their sound sits between indie folk and folk rock, built on intimate writing, acoustic textures and a careful sense of space. The band has often recorded in unconventional places—churches, abandoned buildings—to capture natural reverberation that shapes the songs from the ground up.
Since their self-titled debut in 2003, they’ve traced a clear path through Bodies and Minds, Ongiara and Lost Channels, then New Wild Everywhere, A Forest of Arms and The Waves, The Wake, up to Uncertain Country in 2023. On stage, Great Lake Swimmers balance stripped-back moments with fuller ensemble arrangements, guided by Dekker’s soft-grained voice, measured tempos and lyrics that circle landscapes, memory and the pull of movement. Expect a set that reaches across two decades while giving room to their most recent work, at The Great Hall in Toronto on April 10, 2026.
