Joyce Manor leads the bill on May 10, 2026 at Midway Music Hall in Edmonton. Formed in 2008 in Torrance, California around Barry Johnson and Chase Knobbe, the band forged a direct, melodic punk that pulls from pop punk, emo and a touch of indie rock. Short songs, clear vocal lines and introspective lyrics have been their thing from the self-titled debut through Never Hungover Again, Cody and 40 oz. to Fresno, shaping a set built on tight narratives and quick hooks.
Also on stage, Militarie Gun, launched in Los Angeles in 2020 by Ian Shelton, brings a tense, tuneful strain of punk that leans on post-hardcore grit and catchy refrains. After a run of EPs including All Roads Lead to the Gun and a collaboration with Dazy, the band sharpened its focus with the album Life Under the Gun, balancing rough guitars with a clear, driving voice.
Teen Mortgage and Combat round out the lineup, two names from the current punk circuit that keep the energy sharp and the pacing fast. A night rooted in concise writing, loud guitars and rhythms made for a crowded room, under one roof at Midway Music Hall in Edmonton.
