Info
Formed in Hamburg in 1984, Helloween forged a fast, melodic strain of heavy metal that helped shape European power metal. After an early speed-metal phase with the EP and Walls of Jericho, the arrival of singer Michael Kiske pushed the band toward more melodic writing on Keeper of the Seven Keys I & II, two key records in their history. Through the 1990s, line-up changes took the group through a heavier, focused sound with vocalist Andi Deris, while guitarist Sascha Gerstner and drummer Dani Löble anchored the modern era. Since the Pumpkins United project, the return of Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen alongside Michael Weikath and Markus Grosskopf has reconnected the band’s different periods, a momentum captured on the 2021 self-titled album.
On April 18, 2026, Helloween brings its 40th Anniversary North American Tour to L’Olympia in Montreal. Expect a show that links eras: dual lead vocals, triple-guitar harmonies and brisk tempos, with setlists that usually range from early speed cuts to Keeper-era staples and recent tracks from Helloween. The concert unites the classic voices and the current lineup on the same stage, with a clear focus on melodic power metal.
