Jana Horn stops at Le Chinois in Montreuil on March 9, 2026. An American singer-songwriter, she cultivates spare folk that captures the nuances of intimate experience. On her third self-titled album (due January 2026 on No Quarter), recorded at Sonic Ranch in the West Texas desert, she pares her writing down to the essentials: clipped breath, open space, spoken-sung phrasing like notes taken upon waking. The production plays with silence, wiry guitar motifs and occasionally dissonant winds, in a clarity that may recall Cat Power’s Moon Pix era.

On stage, Horn performs without frills, often accompanied by Adam Jones on drums and Jade Guterman on bass. Her restrained voice is set against a melodic bass and a drum approach that balances tension and suppleness. Adelyn Strei’s flute and clarinet intertwine and respond to one another, while Miles Hewitt’s piano provides a minimal foundation, sometimes a single stubborn note. Stripped-back folk that lets the songs breathe and directs attention to the words, the silences and the gestures.
