Alborosie

Born in Sicily, Alborosie cut his teeth in reggae in the 1990s before putting down roots in Jamaica, where he refined a roots sound tinged with dub and analog warmth. The author of anthems like Kingston Town and Herbalist, he has released albums that draw a clear line between tradition and modernity, from Soul Pirate to For The Culture and Escape From Babylon. On stage he relies on the Shengen Clan, a band of seasoned musicians — a solid rhythm section, polished brass and live dub effects — to deliver extended versions, anthemic choruses and a patois toast. Conscious lyrics, deep bass and a raspy voice: all conceived for the live setting.

On 24 April 2026 at La Belle Electrique in Grenoble, Alborosie comes to present this repertoire, from the classics that made his reputation to his most recent tracks. Between roots grooves and bursts of dub, his set moves with ease, transposing the analog approach of his Shengen Studio to the stage thanks to machines and the close-knit chemistry of the Shengen Clan. A journey between Palermo and Kingston, nourished by three decades of reggae played without artifice.
