Info

Covertramp opens a new chapter with Covertramp Symphony, a concept conceived for large concert halls and presented by 26 musicians on stage, including a 20-piece string ensemble. This premiere will take place at Salle Pleyel in Paris on 17 December 2026, with the band accompanied by an orchestra crafted to broaden the sonic spectrum without betraying Supertramp’s DNA.

A faithful and precise tribute, the repertoire mixes rarities and essentials. The key songs are on the bill — School, Dreamer, Goodbye Stranger, Breakfast in America, Take the Long Way Home, Fool’s Overture, Give a Little Bit — while the string arrangements add depth, color and new dynamics. There are no gratuitous effects; rather, the orchestration work highlights melodies, counter-melodies and textures.

On stage, Covertramp’s six musicians hold the heart of the sound, supported by the string ensemble for an entirely live concert of about two hours. The vocals of Philippe Tailleferd, backed by Sandra Battini, traverse the registers of Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies with a sense of balance that ties together softness, groove and tension. This orchestral format restores scope to the arrangements and offers a contemporary listening of an iconic repertoire, to be experienced at Salle Pleyel.
