D’Jal returns to the stage with En Pleine Conscience, a show that puts its characters front and center. Between stand-up and theatrical play, he moves from one voice to another, capturing everyday foibles and creating situations where reality gently tips into the absurd. We encounter familiar figures, unlikely meetings, family and travel stories—each an occasion to play with accents, silences and abrupt shifts, and to tell what drives him candidly.
With this new creation, he tightens his connection with the audience, multiplies the asides and leaves the door open to improvisation in the moment. A direct, rhythmic experience in which we recognize ourselves as much as we escape.
