Toc Toc de Laurent Baffie

On June 26, 2026, Laurent Baffie’s Toc Toc visits the Théâtre Beaulieu in Nantes. In Dr. Stern’s waiting room, a neuropsychiatrist, six patients with obsessive-compulsive disorders find themselves together. The doctor is running late, conversation gets going and compulsions collide. Palilalia, Tourette’s syndrome, nosophobia or a fear of stepping on the lines — each person copes with their ritual, recounts their daily life and probes the limits of the others. The text places the group at its centre and lets emerge the disparities, speech tics and vulnerabilities that bring them closer.

Pascal Maillard’s staging brings together a tight-knit ensemble. Mathieu Gaudin, Marie Elie, Sophie Morin, Nelly Pichotbadeaud, Kamal Rawas and Olivier Collin embody this cast caught between control and overflow, constraint and the need for connection. The wait becomes common ground, the collective is built in plain sight, and the comedy springs from the rhythm of exchanges, the silences and the follow-ups. Toc Toc plays with obsessions without exaggerating them, relying on actors’ attentive listening, precise timing and the stage energy of a troupe assembled for the occasion.
