With Ah... l’école!, Booder returns to the stage and unfolds his school life like an open notebook. With a notebook and a four-color pen in his pocket, the comedian retraces the thread from the playground of his childhood to the evening homework sessions with his son. He sketches teachers, classmates, report cards, bullying, recess, parent-teacher meetings and those little rituals that punctuate school life, caught between discipline and resourcefulness. You’ll recognize his eye for observation, his self-mockery and the private tutoring scenes he gives his son—now a running gag—used to tell the story of a system that sometimes cracks yet still shapes our kids. No heavy-handed moralizing, rather a direct look, quick-fire anecdotes and that distinctive phrasing that is Booder’s signature.
