Thaïs « Fille de joie »

On March 28, 2026 at the Théâtre du Gymnase - Marie Bell in Paris, Thaïs presents Fille de joie, a solo performance that takes the family as its field of observation. At 33, single, childless, working intermittently in the performing arts and red-haired, she unfolds her autobiography in jolts and short-circuits, where mandatory meals and little injunctions sketch a scathing portrait that isn’t mean-spirited. Impulsive phobias, respiratory, food and—above all—social allergies, eczema and angioedema (Quincke’s edema): everything that tenses everyday life becomes the raw material for a precise, direct writing style.

You encounter a vegan cousin, a father in the midst of a revelation, a very open mother and that uncle who brings the mood down as soon as he speaks. Secrets overflow, unspoken things accumulate, memories that itch: Thaïs observes, dissects and reenacts these common scenes to tell how we navigate the great celebration of life when we don’t get to choose our family.
