Thaïs « Fille de joie »

Thaïs returns with Fille de joie, a new stand-up in which she examines her thirties with the self-mockery that defines her. We last saw her in her twenties staying out too late; now she’s in her thirties attempting the riskiest move to reassure herself: hosting a family dinner. Bad idea or perfect playground, she unpacks everything that comes with it, from the little habits that make everyone tense to the unsaid things that take a seat at the table.

On stage, Thaïs Vauquières speaks candidly about her situation: 32 years old, single, childless, a freelance performer, red-haired, and unhappily familiar with angioedema (Quincke’s edema) and kidney stones. She tells how a simple invitation can turn into a test of wills, and how every detail of an evening with family reveals something about us. With pace, frankness and a keen eye, she follows the thread of those awkward moments in which we laugh as much as we recognize ourselves.
