Forever Pavot

Forever Pavot, Émile Sornin’s project, lands at Le Ferrailleur in Nantes on March 28, 2026 with Melchior, an automaton that eventually inspired an entire album. After a few pop studio records and a handful of soundtracks, Sornin went quiet for a while before tinkering with Jonas Euvremer on a robot meant to simplify his life—interviews and social media included. Melchior took the spotlight, Émile returned to composing, and a new chapter now opens at Born Bad.

Titled Melchior, the record links back to L’idiophone while shifting direction: more electronic, more direct, and this time mostly in English. Sornin’s taste for cinematic arrangements is still evident, but now set within a fresh framework fed by the impulses of this silicon partner. On stage, the near–big-band of the early days is gone: Forever Pavot now tours as a trio—bass, drums, keys-and-vocals—with Melchior as a guest, delivering a tighter version that puts rhythm and texture front and center. It’s a great chance to catch the project’s turn—between clever tinkering and sharp-edged pop—live from Nantes.
