Gildaa

Gildaa, a Franco-Brazilian singer and performer, advances like a cocktail whose recipe has partly been lost: a self-claimed blend of France, England, Benin and Angola, with a hint of Native American heritage and a touch of mystery. Her psyche is like a buffet of unexplored longings; her memory, a temperamental telephone. She says she speaks with the dead without always distinguishing them from the living; she gives generously and sometimes struggles to receive. At times she dances with pain as if with a complicated friend.

On stage, she becomes the constellation of those who came before her. There everything gathers: the living and the dead, here and elsewhere, lovers—both women and men—gold and mud, desire and joy. It is the audience that animates her, and no one else. Gildaa takes over La Cigale in Paris on 28 May 2026 for a concert where her raw, sensitive world brushes against the energy of the room. Between confidences, ritual and shifting pulses, she seeks the precise place where one recognizes oneself without pretense and where her voice holds together the contradictions that run through her.
