Coline Rio continues to carve out her place in the French chanson. Since her debut album and its reissue in 2023 (Ce qu’il restera de nous), followed by the reissue of her EP Ce qui nous lie in 2024, she has toured extensively—nearly 130 dates—including a performance at Le Trianon in Paris in September 2024. Her second album delves further into the intimate: tightly honed lyrics, clear vocal intentions, and a pursuit of truth and precision that runs through the whole record. As a singer-songwriter, she gives words to love, vulnerabilities and her values, supported by strong melodies and a rhythm section that keeps the voice front and center. Folk elements come forward while the chanson aesthetic remains the foundation; the arrangements are pared back without austerity and keep the narrative in front.
