Info
Pierre-Emmanuel Barré arrives at the Théâtre de Béthune in Béthune on April 10, 2026, with a new one-man show that delves into his taste for dark absurdity and satire. In his forties and having worked for Canal+, France Inter, France 2 and France 5—at times engaged then sacked, censored or resigning depending on the episode—he was voted France’s best columnist at the Auguste de l’Humour awards. Since 2024, he can be heard on La Dernière on Radio Nova, where his acerbic writing remains sharp.
This sixth show, nearly twenty years after his debut, projects us into 2031. Barré stages himself as a former phenomenon relegated to the ‘has‑been’ shelf, preparing his comeback. The setup serves to examine the era without détour: social networks, celebrity, ego, and media noise. The text mixes monologue, visual detours and video segments to create a fiction that bends reality while keeping the narrative on course. Raw, unsparing language, a brisk rhythm and precision of phrase: this is the hallmark of a comedian who moves forward head-on, with an unrelenting eye for observation.
