Bun Hay Mean

Bun Hay Mean, alias ‘le Chinois marrant’ (the Funny Chinese), returns with Kill Bun, a new chapter in his stand-up. He juggles codes, clichés and languages, relying on self-deprecation and observations of everyday life. On stage, he alternates finely crafted bits and improvisation, establishes a direct dialogue with the audience, and shifts his subjects from one register to another without warning. Identity, family, cultural differences, current events and the absurdities of the times fuel a comedy that refuses to be boxed in and prefers to subvert expectations.

After several years touring internationally, he’s back on French stages with anecdotes gathered on the road and a sharpened writing. His trademark is a nervy delivery, unexpected angles and an unapologetic taste for playing with the audience—unfiltered and true to stand-up.

Bun Hay Mean will be at La Mals - Théâtre de Sochaux in Sochaux on March 19, 2026. It’s an opportunity to discover Kill Bun in conditions tailored to his sense of rhythm and improvisation.
