Olivier de Benoist, a French comedian, stops at the Arkea Arena in Floirac on April 1, 2026 with The Right to Happiness. After believing he had found the path to bliss, he says he mainly ended up starting a family—and that’s where it all begins. True to his devil’s-advocate persona, he pleads for his peace and, with a contrarian touch, takes on the small laws of everyday life: coupledom, children, authority, compromise and domestic routines. He conducts his own investigation into what we call happiness, oscillating between deliberate bad faith and admissions of weakness, until he reaches the maxim that sums up his thesis: to live happily, live hidden… and sometimes far from one’s wife and children.

Written with Paul-Marie Debrie and Jérôme Daran, this one-man show stages a stubborn optimist who tries to stay the course despite family life. Chronicles, pleas and confidences alternate in a compact format that follows his quest, his dead ends and his attempts at domestic escape. Running time: 90 minutes.
