Info
On May 2, 2027, The Cinematic Orchestra lands at Union Chapel in London with its signature blend of nu jazz, downtempo and filmic electronica, built for people who like their concerts to feel like a moving picture. Led by Jason Swinscoe, the project has always worked like a band rather than a fixed act: acoustic instruments, jazz improvisation and studio-level detail collide in slow-burning pieces that grow in layers.
Expect a set shaped by the group’s long relationship with images and atmosphere, from the early pulse of Motion to the cinematic sweep that made their re-scoring of Man with a Movie Camera such a key moment, and the more vocal, song-leaning side heard on Ma Fleur and To Believe. On stage, the line-up stays fluid, drawing on musicians from the jazz and improvised scenes, which keeps the music alive, elastic, and open to surprise.
