Info
On April 3, 2027, The Flaming Lips bring their « The Teardrop Throbs » show to O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London, a perfect setting for the band’s kaleidoscopic take on psychedelic rock. Since forming in Oklahoma City in 1983 around Wayne Coyne and Michael Ivins, they’ve kept stretching their sound: garage-punk roots giving way to a mix where big pop melodies collide with noise, electronics and oddball storytelling.
Expect a set that nods to the moments that reshaped their universe, from the breakthrough rush of Transmissions from the Satellite Heart to the orchestral glow of The Soft Bulletin and the sci-fi heart of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, without forgetting later, darker turns like Embryonic and The Terror. Long driven by Coyne and Steven Drozd, The Flaming Lips are also famous for turning concerts into full sensory experiences, with immersive staging and playful, unpredictable ideas that make the songs hit differently live.
