Info
On May 4, 2027, Joanne Shaw Taylor brings her blues-rock firepower to the Playhouse Whitley Bay in Whitley Bay. First spotted at 16 by Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), she’s since carved out a serious run as a guitarist and singer who keeps the blues moving forward without losing its bite. Expect a set built on sharp, fast-playing riffs, a voice that leans into soul as much as rock, and that pocket-groove feel that makes her songs hit hard live.
With a discography that’s already deep, she’s also been refreshing her sound in recent years, folding in warmer americana shades and flashes of 80s pop sheen, especially around the Black & Gold era. Live, that mix translates into a show that can swing from raw, stripped-back intensity to bigger, hookier moments, always anchored by her guitar work and a band dynamic that pushes the songs in real time.
