Info
On June 11, 2027, André Rieu will land at Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning with his Johann Strauss Orchestra and that distinctive blend of Viennese waltz and light classical music that he has made his own. On stage, he shifts effortlessly between the roles of violin soloist and conductor, while the repertoire moves from Strauss arrangements and glimpses of operetta to film music, well-known songs, and classical themes that are easy to engage with without it feeling like a solemn concert hall. Rieu builds the evening as a show in several moods: elegant waltz passages, melodies that are instantly recognizable, and small surprises along the way, where the orchestra’s timbre is allowed to fill the room. There is typically also room for guest singers and a choir, so the concert gains that sense of a traveling musical ensemble that invites the audience right up close.
