Info
Dorthe Gerlach will take new Danish songs on a spring tour in 2027. When Dorthe Gerlach visits Pavillonen in April 2027, it will be with some of the country’s musicians and newly written songs in Danish. The new material will be accompanied by songs from the solo album Natlys and the EP Krigerhjerte.
"You don't really know your new songs until you take them out into the real world, and right now it feels like having a flock of fluffy fledglings in my desk drawer. But when spring comes, I’ll push them out onto the edge of the stage. Out to those I trust most, my audience," says Dorthe Gerlach.
For more than two decades, Dorthe Gerlach’s voice has moved Denmark, both in people’s living rooms and live, where she shares both sorrows and joys at her concerts. After several years with the country-pop duo Hush and English-language material, Dorthe Gerlach is once again turning her gaze toward her mother tongue.
Gerlach is a storyteller. Her gaze is sharp, and her tone affectionate as she unfolds her Danish songs, and the stories stretch from the Vejlefjord Bridge to Peblingesøen's plastic-swan boats. From Inger’s things in a deserted apartment in Randers to the chalk-white wooden clogs at the hospital and the flattened hedgehog on the way to school in Vendsyssel. And when the tour kicks off in spring, it will come with new songs and new stories under her arm.
"I am coming with a group of musicians I know, and I’m looking forward to these evenings. Let’s see if the fledglings can fly. I think they can."
