Info
Angine de Poitrine lands in Calgary for a concert at Grey Eagle on March 29, 2027, bringing the duo’s instrumental tension-and-groove machine from Quebec. Since 2023, Klek and Khn de Poitrine have been building tracks that sit between experimental rock, math rock, angular post-punk and a kind of mechanical repetition that flirts with techno in the way it locks into patterns.
Their pieces are shaped by adding and stripping back short motifs, with a dry, precise drum sound and microtonal guitar and bass lines that bend the ear without ever needing vocals. Expect asymmetric structures, chromatic phrases that keep the pressure on, and constant rhythmic shifts: music that stays tight, jolting, and strangely danceable. With Vol. 1 (2024) and a fast rise on Quebec stages, this show is a sharp snapshot of a project that treats rock energy like something to engineer, not just unleash.
