Info
On 13 May 2027, Herb Alpert brings Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass to the Royal Albert Hall in London for a night built around that instantly recognizable trumpet sound and its Latin-tinged pop swing. This is the project that made his name in the early 60s, mixing Mexican brass-band colors with orchestral pop arrangements and easy-listening grooves that still feel made for a big room.
Expect the Tijuana Brass signature: bright, melodic lead lines, punchy horn riffs, and a sense of playful precision that turns instrumental music into something you can hum on the way out. The set naturally nods to the classic era that defined the band’s sound, while leaving space for the later Herb Alpert sides too—where he leaned into jazz, light funk, and smoother contemporary textures. In a venue like this, it’s less about nostalgia than about hearing a master player shape a whole palette with a few notes, and watching the band’s tight arrangements do the rest.
