Formed in Paris in 2021, Houle is a melodic black metal band that blends razor-sharp riffs with captivating melodies. Drawing inspiration from the relentless immensity of the ocean, Houle depicts humanity's struggle against the transcendent and crushing forces of nature. It is an adventure in which every exhausted traveler must overcome chaos and the unknown in search of a peaceful destination.
The band released its first EP in late 2022 and its debut album Ciel cendre et misère noire in 2024 through Les Acteurs de l'Ombre. Since then, the quintet has established itself on the French black metal scene, notably performing at Hellfest or Motocultor, and has now begun to develop its marine black metal. As it prepares to release its second album, Houle will headline a French tour, backed by Cân Bardd and Galibot, with a show at La Machine du Moulin Rouge.
