Info
Anúna lands at Theater Kerkrade on 10 December 2026 with a vocal show that takes you on a journey through medieval sounds, Irish tradition, and contemporary choral music. The ensemble was founded in Ireland by composer Michael McGlynn and is known for its distinctive sound: bright, polyphonic voices, sometimes almost plainchant, at other times layered and modern, with room for Gaelic and sacred timbres without slipping into historical reconstruction.
In performance, Anúna often performs without a visible conductor. The singers use the space, move across the stage, and play with resonance and silence, making the concert feel like a single continuous scene. Do not expect a classical choral recital, but a carefully crafted program in which melody and texture are central. Those who know Anúna from their early work in the 1990s or from the Riverdance era will hear the same signature here, further refined and still focused on the power of voices, both solo and together.
