Moscow Death Brigade is a Russian techno, rap and punk group that blends hip-hop rhymes with electronic and hardcore punk rhythms and progressive lyrics. It is a techno, rap and punk phenomenon that performs the "Circle Pit Hip-Hop": a unique and aggressive blend of electronic music, hardcore punk and rap, steeped in graffiti and street culture, with a progressive social message against war, racism and all forms of discrimination.
Originally formed as a DIY collective in 2008, MDB emerged from Russia's progressive social movements and the underground graffiti scene. Since 2014, MDB has been one of the most welcomed independent touring groups on European punk, hardcore and socialist stages. The band has played over a hundred shows and numerous festivals across the European Union, including Boomtown (UK), With Full Force (Germany), Zikenstock (France) and Resist to Exist (Germany).
The band's two albums, Hoods Up and Boltcutter, released by Fire and Flames (Germany) and Rebel Sound (United States), charted in the top 10 alongside recent releases by bands such as Terror and Rancid. MDB openly expresses its strong stance against war and all forms of discrimination. It also participates in organizing promotional events and spreading the message of unity in the name of Brother & Sisterhood.
