Info
There’s no need to look far. When you name your show Cactus, it’s bound to sting, but that’s a habit with Elie Semoun. For 30 years, he has established himself as one of the most incisive and offbeat comedians on the French scene. His style has inspired generations of artists, because his art of inhabiting characters is unique. In this eighth show, presented at L'Éolienne, stand-up will be a bit more present, which is new for him. In the lineup of new monsters, there will be Jean Abdul, who will perform his own opening set, a son who gives his father a tour of a nursing home, Xavier, the physically disabled man who introduces his wife to his mother, a father confronted with his son’s transition, a karate class taught by a racist, sexual harassment, religion. These will be the new themes of Cactus, a deep and lighthearted take on this violent and inspiring society.
