Info
On February 12, 2027 in Toulon, at Le Live, the evening brings together two timely visions of Nordic music, spanning trance and ritual.
Eihwar, a French duo led by Asrunn and Mark, arrives with its Viking War Trance: martial percussion, chants sung in unison, refrains designed to be sung along, and tribal electronics that push the concert set toward a performance. Discovered online and then propelled onto stages such as Hellfest, Wacken, or Midgardsblot, the group offers an edgy pagan folk, preferring Nordic fantasy to historical reenactment, with the Hugrheim universe serving as a through-line.
Opening the evening, the Swedes Hindarfjäll establish a more acoustic and ceremonial atmosphere: polyphonic singing, percussion, flute, guitar and nyckelharpa, with a modern production that keeps one foot in the metal aesthetic. The collective, signed to Grimfrost Records, explores myths, rites and Nordic folklore across its recent albums, in a sober, choral vein.
