Bullet For My Valentine will land at AFAS Live (Amsterdam) with a set that drives their melodic metalcore and heavy metal to new heights. The band from Bridgend, led by Matt Tuck, continues to lean on fast riffs, twin guitars and catchy choruses, but can just as easily slide into sharper, more aggressive passages. Expect a show where familiar touchpoints from The Poison era and the later, harder direction can sit alongside new material. With the album Social Apocalypse on the horizon, the band blends melody with brutal dynamics and cinematic detail, and themes such as unrest, anxiety and the pressure of a world that seems to be changing faster and faster emerge.
Pendulum brings a different kind of explosion: drum and bass with rock energy, built on tight breaks, heavy bass and grand, sung moments. Since their start in Perth and the later UK years, they switch effortlessly between club vibes and the energy of a live band, as you know from Hold Your Colour to Immersion.
Dark Divine serve up dark hard rock and metalcore with a horror-inspired, gothic edge. With clean vocals, screams and a theatrical atmosphere, they set the tone as a support act that teases more than it warms up.
