This Is The Kit is first and foremost the voice and writing of Kate Stables, an Englishwoman living in Paris, who has grown this project from an almost solo format into a full-fledged band. Her contemporary folk keeps the banjo and acoustic strings at the heart of the sound, but introduces rougher guitars, slightly off-kilter rhythms, and an indie-rock energy that never overplays its hand. On stage, the strength of the collective is as important as the songs: Rozi Plain on bass, Jamie Whitby-Coles on drums, and Neil Smith on guitar accompany this pared-down, direct songwriting, always in motion.
On Tuesday, May 4, 2027, at La Maroquinerie in Paris, This Is The Kit comes to present a repertoire built, album after album, from Krülle Bol to Careful of Your Keepers, with a blend of gentleness and tension that is as much a confession as a shoulder nudge. A concert conceived as a moment of camaraderie, where we all cling together as the melodies and words unfold.
