With Ear Witness, Simon Spang-Hanssen brings together a contemporary jazz quartet where composition and improvisation intertwine in a free and open aesthetic, nourished by his collaborations with John Tchicai and Michel Portal. The concert will take place on October 9, 2026, at Le Baiser Salé.
On piano, Mario Canonge, between Martinique and Paris, blends percussive playing, jazz, and Caribbean influences. On bass, Linley Marthe, former member of the Joe Zawinul Syndicate, conveys power, virtuosity, and his distinctive sound. On drums, Adriano Tenorio, nourished by Brazilian heritage and European collaborations, brings a supple and deeply rhythmic approach. Together, they develop an organic and coherent language, in which each identity expresses itself, with excerpts from Simon Spang-Hanssen's new album Seconds Ago (released August 28, 2026) and a tribute to Félix Sabal-Lecco.
