Info
James Ivy is the project of New Jersey-born, New York-based singer-songwriter and producer James Butler, and on November 16, 2026 at Monarch Tavern in Toronto, it’s that full DIY world that hits the stage. Built around his debut album The Seams, the set leans into songs that sit with the slow parts of life instead of rushing past them: routines, drift, the weird comfort of stagnation, and the itch to change it.
As a producer as much as a writer, Butler plays with texture and space, letting arrangements breathe while keeping the focus on the voice and the hook. The Seams reads like a pause button, a way to work without ego or slogans, and live it should feel the same: direct, unforced, and more about staying with the moment than chasing quick payoff.
