Behind This Is Lorelei stands Nate Amos, half of Water From Your Eyes, who gives himself a playground that is more direct and intimate. His songs drift between American songwriting, folk, and indie rock, with a fondness for small slips: a detail from everyday life, then suddenly a strange image, a character a little off, a departure that circles back. A melodic, often handmade writing that always leaves room for narration and for silences.
On March 18, 2027 at Rock School Barbey in Bordeaux, he will come to present The Singer in My Band, his first album for Matador, written on the road, between two shows and hours in the van. A record with an economy of means embraced, where guitars and melodies carry fragmented stories, like postcards you wouldn’t send. On stage, This Is Lorelei promises this blend of immediacy and a delicate imbalance that keeps the songs standing.
