Jake Bugg comes to Bristol Beacon on February 21, 2027, with that no-frills songwriting approach that made him stand out early on: a voice up front, guitars that cut straight through, and melodies that don’t overdo it. First spotted after a BBC Introducing slot at Glastonbury in 2011, he’s built a catalogue that moves freely between British folk roots and a drier, nervier kind of rock, switching from stripped-back acoustic moments to tighter, more electric tracks.
Over the years he’s kept his core sound while shifting the frame: the Rick Rubin-recorded Shangri La pushed his songs into a sharper rock setting, while later records leaned into self-made immediacy and more acoustic colours. More recently, A Modern Day Distraction brought him back to an upfront guitar-driven feel. Expect a set that connects those different chapters without turning it into a retrospective, just a solid night of songs built to be played live.
