On Friday 20 November 2026 in Birkenhead, Cheekface land at Future Yard with their self-styled “America’s Local Band” energy: tight indie rock built on talk-sung lines, dry one-liners, and that knack for turning everyday routines into sharp little stories. Fresh off Podium, they lean into self-effacing, openhearted lyrics and brisk guitar-driven tunes that bounce between irony and real-life tension without getting heavy-handed.
They’re joined by Playboy Manbaby, a punk-leaning project that mixes garage grit, art-rock angles and abrasive hooks, powered by absurd humor and a nervy, fast live feel.
Also on the bill, Emperor X (Chad Matheny) brings his lo-fi, experimental songwriter side: rough-edged guitars, dense writing, and songs that can swerve from intimate indie to noise-pop derailments in the same breath.
