Not Scientists emerged from the band Uncommonmenfrommars. Driven by the burning desire to brighten their guitar tones without sacrificing the raw power of their sound, the four musicians wrote songs fast enough to conquer stages and reclaim their place on the road.
From bars to clubs, from tiled pub floors to elevated festival stages across Europe (and in the USA), Not Scientists have carved their path, logging thousands of kilometers in their van and, with their indie-oriented harmonies, driven by crystal-clear guitars, melodic vocals, and a dense rhythm section, won over an audience that was initially curious, then loyal.
In keeping with the spirit of the French independent music scene, Not Scientists released their first EP, "Leave Stickers On Our Graves," to lay the groundwork for this new project. This was followed by their debut album, "Destroy To Rebuild," which shaped their identity. The creative shift that accompanied "Golden Staples," their second album from 2018 (preceded by a split 7-inch with the Australian band Hard-Ons), was pivotal in the development of the band's sound. Melodic richness and clear guitars were enhanced by New Wave influences and slower BPMs.
Not Scientists will be performing at Hafenklang in Hamburg on 15 November 2026.
