On February 17, 2027, Basement land at The LCR in Norwich with their mix of emo-tinged rock and grunge friction, built on catchy lines and guitars that can turn heavy without warning. Since Songs About the Weather and I Wish I Could Stay Here, the band has kept that push and pull between clear melodies and melodic-hardcore energy, later stretching the format on Colourmeinkindness, Promise Everything and Beside Myself. Live, it’s all about dynamics: tight tempos, sudden shifts, and that direct vocal delivery that makes their songs hit hard without overdoing it.
Opening the night, Fleshwater bring their Boston-born blend of shoegaze haze and post-hardcore weight. Formed in 2017 and sharpened across We’re Not Here to Be Loved and 2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky, the band plays on contrast—dense, saturated guitars against airy hooks, softness that flips into blunt impact, with Marisa Shirar’s voice cutting through the fog. Expect a set rooted in ’90s textures, grungegaze and heavy-but-melodic tension.
