Mala was born and raised in South Norwood, London, and has played a pioneering role in British music since the turn of the century. His work as a producer helped shape the musical DNA of dubstep with its most original ingredients even before the genre had its name. Mala became known as one of the founders of DMZ, the collective behind some of the most influential club nights in modern bass music and the most sought-after 12-inch vinyls on the scene. Almost 20 years later, his ideas and creations continue to influence, drive development forward, and unite contemporary electronic music in new and uncharted ways.
On September 4, he will perform at Slaktkyrkan in Stockholm together with MC Sgt Pokes.
