Unité.22 : Mézigue all night long

No, you’re not dreaming, Unité.22 welcomes an unprecedented date to pace this August month with the very first back-to-back between Mézigue and Andy 4000, all night long.

Since 2013, the D.KO Records label has infused the French scene with a vision that is both elegant and whimsically offbeat for electronic music made in France. The label soon gave rise to a champion, masked and anonymous: Mézigue.

It is difficult to describe this unconventional figure on the scene, as he is so discreet and private about his identity, and not very talkative about his own music. Behind generation-spanning anthems such as "Le problème Frenchtouch" or "Du son pour mes gars sûrs," he is a craftsman in the shadows, an inspired producer, and a fanatic of improbable French slang, concrete and nature.

His evening counterpart, on the opposite side, is very present under the stage lights; a figure in the club, fashion, electro and rap scenes, Andy 4000 is probably already the friend of your best friend. Andy quickly established herself as the host and DJ of parties—sometimes underground, sometimes gracing the catwalks of Fashion Week.

A back-to-back between two figures who are opposites on paper, between shadow and light, for a night where anonymity flirts with notoriety, where trap and Afrobeat sounds collide with house and techno.

For several years now, armed with her charisma and eclecticism, Andy 4000 has been touring Parisian clubs, the roads of France, and European capitals. In 2018, Yard entrusted her with the mission of being resident at their events. She bridges between underground clubs, Fashion Week aftershows, boutique festivals, and those that have become industry references. Her only comfort zone: turning dance floors inside out, whether they are made up of hip-hop aficionados, thrill-seeking festival-goers, or fashion-minded souls craving Italian disco; Andy breaks the rules and does what she does best: be a DJ. Each time, when the party ends, the same observation remains: the desire to see her back at her post and to celebrate the music.
