On March 18, 2027, Zélie steps on stage at the Big Band Café in Hérouville-Saint-Clair with that raw, palpable energy that is her signature. Fists clenched, a direct gaze, she sings a nerve-wracking French-language pop, pervaded by electronic textures and writing that is direct, sometimes blunt, always embodied.
With Le cœur et sa dictature, her latest album, she draws on the live experience, those songs performed night after night, to push textures and contrasts even further. In her lyrics, Zélie tackles topics that resonate with many: breakups, the relationship to the body, familial wounds, and what divorce leaves behind.
